Voices of Patriots

On this day today :1885 - The Statue of Liberty arrives in NY and in 1963 - Supreme Court rules against Bible reading/prayer in public schools - Seems we went in the wrong direction. A symbol of freedom arrives and then religious freedoms get taken away. But we are waking up and taking back what we lost and returning to the vision of our Founders. The Voices of Patriots are beginning to be heard. I feel a new and fresh season is coming to the United States. We/I seem to look at each day and see all the troubling news we face in our country and in the world and wonder what we will face, what our children and grandchildren will, in the near future, face. We don't have a time machine but we do have history. It has been said that if we don't know our history, then we will be doomed to repeat it. That is a good and a bad thing to experience. America ws founded by good people with good intentions. We decided later the tyranny that King George was handing down had to stop. The revolution came, we won our freedom and our Founders divinely wrote the The Constitution of the United States. None of this would have happened without the Voices of Patriots. Voices such as Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, George Washington, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Witherspoon. The list goes on and on. These people that call themselves Americans had to endure hardship to take hold of what they knew in their hearts as freedom.

Lets fast forward to today. Nothing has changed. We still call ourselves Americans and it is still a struggle to take hold of what we feel in our hearts. But we have lost sight of our beginnings. We have lost part of who we are and what we stand for. Our government (that we elected) has turned away from being the government that was founded.  Abraham Lincoln stated in the Gettysburg Address "This nation, under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth". I believe that President Lincoln is right and was speaking words of encouragement to us now.

The United States was founded by faith and taken hold of by war. The Voices of Patriots are beginning to return to its origins. We are returning to God and finding our faith and I believe that once again the United States will be that light of freedom to the world but more so a light of freedom to ourselves. We have a ways to go and who knows how we will get back to our founding. Will it be by elections, will it be by Revolution or both? One thing that I have learned that is true. It will be by faith in God, prayer and repentance.

Today is Father Day. Lets all reflect on our Founding Fathers and begin to reflect them to our country and be a Voice of Patriots.
